Compared to other renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind power, harnessing wave power is still a nascent technology. Despite this, there is no denying the significant potential that wave power offers: while solar panels receive approximately .3 kilowatts of energy per square meter, properly implemented wave energy converters can produce 100 times as much energy over the same space.
As with most renewable energy sources, the largest concern with widescale implementation of wave power is the upfront implementation cost.
